Description
This used VWR MicroStar 12 is a compact, ventilated benchtop microcentrifuge designed for routine lab work. It delivers high-speed performance in a small footprint, ideal for processing microtubes.
The MicroStar 12 achieves a maximum speed of 13,500 rpm with a relative centrifugal force (RCF) up to 12,300 × g, enabling rapid separation of small-volume samples. It comes with a 12-place fixed-angle rotor for 1.5 / 2.0 ml tubes, and optional rotor kits are available for PCR tubes or strip formats.
The instrument includes digital controls, LCD display, an automatic lid release, pulse-spin mode for quick runs, and automatic RPM/RCF conversion. Its internal airflow design helps prevent sample heating, and built-in safety features include imbalance detection and over-speed / over-heat alarms.
