Description
All our used pipettes are calibrated according to the ISO 8655, 2002 guideline. This guideline was written specifically to define the requirements necessary to produce accurate and reliable calibrations of all kinds of pipettes and other closely-related measurement equipment. It details the required methods, test conditions, test equipment, reporting requirements and includes requirements for reporting the required measurement uncertainty values. Today, it is the most critical ISO standard for calibrating piston-operated pipettes, burettes, diluters and dispensers.
Every Pipette is checked at the maximum volume (nominal volume) and the minimal volume or 10% of the maximum volume whichever is higher. To do so a new tip is first pre-wetted 3-5 times with MilliQ water after which a series of five pipettings is performed at both volumes. Afterwards the accuracy (%) and repeatability (CV %) are determined and checked against the acceptance limits in this guideline. Only the pipettes which meet the requirements will be offered for sale.
A calibration certificate will be included, if you decide to purchase one of our used pipettes. For example this certificate belongs to the Eppendorf Research 0,1-2,5µl pipette.
