1345 – Used Bio-Rad PDS-1000/He Biolistic particle delivery system

€850.00 ex.

For sale this used Bio-Rad PDS-1000/He Biolistic particle delivery system. We have tested and maintained the instrument in our laboratory, and it is in a good working condition.

The system uses a high-pressure burst of helium gas to introduce DNA-coated microcarriers into target cells. The bombardment is a convenient method for transforming several intact cells, tissues, or organelles. The particle delivery technique is easier and faster to perform than microinjection. With the offered used Bio-Rad PDS-1000/He Biolistic particle delivery system, both stable as well as transient transformations are possible.

Key features:

  • A reproducible method for transforming intact cells in culture, requiring little manipulation of cells
  • Transformation of cells with unique growth requirements that are not amenable to other methods of transfection
  • Maximum control
  • High reproducibility

Biolistic applications:

  • Experimental conditions: In vitro, ex vivo, in vivo (plants)
  • Target area: Large (40 cm2)
  • Pressure range: 450–2200 psi
  • Types of target:
    • Animals: Cell and organ culture
    • Plants: Small intact plants, plant cell culture, explants
    • Yeast, bacteria, other microbes
    • Organelles (chloroplasts, mitochondria, etc.)

Specifications:

  • Construction: Aluminium, ABS plastic, and acrylic chassis
  • Maximum current: <5 A
  • Fuse: 6.3 A, 250 V, 5 x 20 mm
