Description
This used Gonotec OSMOMAT auto Cryoscopic Osmometer is a fully automatic freezing-point osmometer designed for determining the total osmolality of aqueous solutions. The system is suitable for clinical laboratories, pharmaceutical laboratories, research laboratories, medical diagnostics, nephrology, urology, veterinary medicine, physiology, hemodialysis, pharmacies and general laboratory osmolality testing.
The OSMOMAT auto uses the cryoscopic measuring principle, determining osmolality by measuring freezing point depression. The sample is cooled by a Peltier cooling system while the temperature is electronically monitored. Crystallization is automatically initiated by injecting ice crystals into the sample, after which the freezing point is detected and converted into an osmolality result.
This automated version is designed for higher sample throughput and can measure and store up to 20 samples automatically in one procedure. It requires only 50 µL sample volume and provides menu-guided operation through the integrated LCD display. The instrument also includes an integrated printer for documentation of measurement results.
This unit powers on correctly and reaches operating temperature / cooling state. However, the sample holder / sample tray for the measuring vessels is missing. Because of this missing part, a full measurement test with samples could not be performed. The instrument is therefore offered as power-on tested and cooling-tested, but not fully function-tested. The system is supplied as pictured.
It can be returned if it turns out to be malfunctioning in practice.
