Description
Designed to protect a DNA or RNA sample from cross-contamination, contamination from the room, or contamination from the operator during its amplification, the used LAF cabinet Captair Biocap is equipped with a blower and a H14 HEPA filter. It utilizes a vertical laminar air flow pattern: the air from the room flows through the filter and is blown into the enclosure. This prevents any DNA or RNA present in the room from contaminating the DNA or RNA sample. The air is ejected towards the operator, preventing user contamination even when the operator’s hands are introduced within the enclosure. A UV lamp controlled by a timer is used to decontaminate the enclosure with UV rays between two successive PCR experiments to avoid cross-contamination.
Our used LAF cabinet, Captair Biocap, is offered at a bargain price. Reason is that the windows of the cabinet are cracked, which is a clear disadvantage and that the timer of the UV lamp seems to be malfunctioning. The vertial laminar air flow works fine which makes the system functional.
