Description
This used Retsch SK 300 Cross Beater Mill is a robust laboratory and small-scale production mill designed for coarse and fine size reduction of medium-hard and brittle materials. The SK 300 uses impact grinding: the sample is fed through the hopper into the grinding chamber, where it is caught by the cross beater and reduced between the beater, baffle plates and grinding insert. Final particle size is determined by the installed bottom sieve, making the system suitable for a wide range of sample preparation tasks. It’s functionality was tested with coffee beans (see picture).
The Retsch SK 300 is commonly used in laboratories, quality control departments, pilot plants and production environments for materials such as cement clinker, coal, coke, glass, gypsum, minerals, ores, ceramics, soil, slag, plastics and other brittle or medium-hard samples. The variable speed range allows the grinding process to be adapted to different sample types. The removable grinding insert, rotor and bottom sieve allow relatively easy cleaning and maintenance.
This unit is the cast iron version, produced in 2020, and is supplied with the mobile base frame and accessories as pictured. Several Retsch accessory boxes and sieve/grinding components are shown in the supplied photos.
