Description
The offered used Shimadzu LC-20 HPLC with UV/VIS and fluorescence detector out of 2013 was used for the analysis of spices. (stukje is weg, heb ik zelf gedaan) among others capsaicinoids, and mycotoxins with post-column derivatization, were performed. The system was decommissioned in 2018 because the assays were outsourced to an externally accredited laboratory. The system has not been in operation since then. We have therefore extensively tested and serviced the instrument in our laboratory.
The Shimadzu LC-20 HPLC system consists of:
- DGU-20A 5R Degassing unit
- LC-20AT Prominence liquid chromatograph pump (with gradient valve)
- SIL-20A HT Prominence autosampler
- CTO-20AC Prominence column oven (with integrated FCV-14AH column switching valve)
- SPD-20A Prominence UV/Vis detector
- RF-20A XS Prominence fluorescence detector
- CBM-20A Communications bus module
- PC with LabSolutions software version 5.54
- Cobra cell (not tested)
The configuration with two different detectors makes performing of various applications using a single instrument possible. Due to the column switching valve, up to 6 columns can be installed separately. This used Shimadzu LC-20 HPLC with UV/VIS and fluorescence detector achieves an exceptional level of performance, reliability, and economy.
The system has been tested with our model application to determine that the performance characteristics meet our requirements and those of the customer. We have drawn up a test certificate for the instrument, you can find it here: Nr. 1389 Shimadzu LC-20 test certificate.
The new price of the instrument was approximately € 50.000. The system was alwasy good maintained by a specialized organisation. The instruction manuals (printed and on CD-ROM), certificates of compliance and supplemental information for most modules are included.
