Description
This used Griffin Melting point apparatus is designed to determine the melting point of different substances and continually observe the sample(s) during melting. The melting point determines the purity and identification of a solid.
The offered used Griffin Melting point apparatus was tested and maintained in our laboratory. The instrument is in a good condition and well-functioning. The instrument can be used with a Gallekamp TJ-340 thermometer (not included).
In determining the melting point, the temperature range at which a solid melts to the liquid phase is measured. This is also known as the melting point of the solid. In practice, this is the temperature at which the first crystals begin to melt to the temperature at which all crystals are melted. This is called the melting point range. The solid is considered pure when the melting point range is less than 2 °C.
