The Gilson Quad-Z 215 liquid handler is a robust workhorse for fully automated manual liquid handling methods, such as dilutions, aliquoting solutions, mixing, plate reformatting, reconstituting samples, solid phase extraction and more.
The system features four independent probes with variable horizontal spacing from 9 to 18 mm which enables access to a wide range of sample vessels. The integrated two 402 dual syringe pumps provide four independently controlled syringes of 250 µl. The combination allows independent volume transfer across all four tips at the same time.
The system is equipped with a disposable tip option, a requirement in molecular biology and biochemistry applications, including DNA probes, PCR preparation, automated sample prep and electrophoresis. Disposable tips prevent cross-contamination, which saves time by eliminating rinse steps. Accepts 10 µL, 200 µL and 1000 µL Gilson Diamond® Tips for a dispensing volume range of 1 to 1000 µL.
A considerable number of various racks and rack types is included with the offered system (see Table). This enables a large application range and maximum flexibility in sample transfer between tubes, vials and wellplates and sample pretreatment options.
This liquid handler system is powered by the TRILUTION® LH Software which features simple drag-and-drop method creation, flexibility through the use of variables and operators, simulation to ensure the functionality and reliability of the application prior to use with precious samples, and integration with third-party devices and other software programs.
The offered configuration is a complete system which be used independently without the need to purchase additional elements or software packages. In operation a reproducibility of 1.8% CV and accuracy of 98% can be obtained for sample volumes of 5 µl with a 10 µl disposable tip and 250 µl syringe. The instrument and accessories originate from July 2008 and are in perfect condition. This liquid handler system has not been intensively used and was last serviced in May 2014
